About Doz and how to use it safely

⚠️ Important notice

Doz is only a decision-support tool for physicians and pharmacists. It does not replace clinical judgment, official prescribing information or local guidelines.

The data is under clinical review. Drugs marked "Unverified" have not yet been signed off by a clinical reviewer.

Every number is shown with its source. Before prescribing, check the dose against the original source and the patient's condition.

No patient data is stored or sent anywhere. Responsibility for prescribing lies with the treating physician.

How to use

  1. Search for a drug or pick it from a category.
  2. Choose the disease and regimen.
  3. Choose the available formulation (suspension strength or tablet).
  4. Enter the patient's age and weight; Persian digits are accepted.
  5. Read the result and tap any source chip to see the section, page and link of the original source, and check the dose against it.

What is Doz?

A drug dose calculator for children and all ages that shows a specific source for every number, warning and note. Per-dose and daily maximums are applied, and age-based contraindications stop the calculation.

Sources and the reference status table

Each drug page has a table showing which sources (FDA label, guideline, the medical school's licensed reference, Iranian leaflet) have references recorded (✅) and which do not (❌). Anything without a source is shown with a red "No reference" label.

Clinical review

Every drug starts as "Unverified" and becomes "Verified" only after a named clinical reviewer checks and signs it off with a date.

Privacy

Doz has no server or accounts. Age, weight and other inputs are calculated only in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Updating the data

The data are JSON files in the project's GitHub repository and are validated and tested automatically before publishing. The guide for adding drugs is docs/DATA_GUIDE.md.
